Blog Post: What the London Riots made me realize by C’est Christine

We all saw the appalling riots in London this week. All I could think about was how safe I used to find London, which was my home for two and a half years. The police didn’t even have guns. After this week’s performance, they may just be carrying them more often now. Hackney, one of the worst areas for the riots, was the area I taught in. My very first experience teaching.  It was heartbreaking to see such senseless violence.

I really enjoyed readug C’est Christine’s thoughts on What the London Riots Made me Realize.

Malaysian Lunch at Chinta Ria

Again, we were out eating Malaysian food this week for the Malaysian Kitchen Bloggers Ambassador Programme. We dined on the Chinta Ria roof terrace of Cockle Bay Darling Harbour for Sunday lunch. Once again it was divine and I am falling deeply in love with Laksa and Malaysian food.

Song: Waiting on an Angel by Ben Harper

The minute Ben Harper opens his mouth I feel love. I love this song Waiting on an Angel. I found a great version of it on you tube with Vanessa Paradis. It’s a beautiful song, especially as I now wait for the arrival of my angel.

Articles published on other Personal development sites

One of my goals with Mojito Mother was to have articles published on other self improvement, positive development sites, as that is what I love writing and talking about.

This past week I had an article published on Marc and Angel Hack life,a popular self improvement blog, 54 Lessons 14 years of World Travel Taught Me and I have another one getting published sometime this week on Pick the Brain an done next month on Life Optimizer.

New Lonely Planet Books

We love an adventure and we don’t care what anyone has to say about Lonely Planet; nothing gets me pumped up more than reading through one of those books. They were there for me for my first trip abroad in 97 and have been with me ever since.

Yesterday three of my old faithful friends arrived. We got a great 3 for the price of 2 deal online and have one for the UK, France and Germany.

Get me to Bordeaux please!

Chakra Re-balancing

I have felt like a new woman since having my chakra re-balancing done. Actually, I have felt like my old self. It is amazing how free and relaxed I feel. All my worries have melted into the background and I feel bizarre that I even worried about them in the first place.

Happy to meet another LP lover!! So many people don’t want to admit their love for it because it is too “norm” they’ve helped me travel around the world so how could I not love it?

Aww thanks for the mention! I’m still in shock over the London riots–I’ve had countless conversations with friends and acquaintances about them (and my mother!) and I still can’t find any justification. It really is just senseless violence–and so disheartening to see. However, I was quite inspired by those who went out and cleaned up the streets–but really just showed the drastic difference in attitude and class in England right now.

It’s a horrible situation. As the prime minister said “There is something horribly wrong with our society.” couldn’t agree more. Who knows how it can be fixed.
