A day at the beach: The first for the summer season
It might be a little early, but I am calling it.
Summer is here.
Well it felt like that for me on Tuesday when I took the girls to the beach. I had to drive Craig to the man removal surgery and wait until he put an end to babies in our household once and for all.
Snip snip.
It was the perfect excuse for Kalyra, Savannah and I to pass the time at one of our local favourites, Terrigal Beach.
And it was a stinking hot day. We arrived at 8am to catch the early warmth, without the blistering noon day heat.
The beach was empty and we had fun together playing in the sand, jumping over waves and laughing like girls do.
Kalyra has not stopped saying how much fun she had at the beach and we must do more of it this summer.
Yes we must!
I think Savannah would agree if she could verbalise it. It her first experience feeling the sand between her toes, and we chuckled watching her try to steady her feet to walk over the uneven ground. It was great for me as it meant I did not have to chase her too far.
I could actually lie down on the towel and smile broadly, not at my chance to relax, but to watch my two girls play together. They dug holes, built sand castles, climbed on Mummy’s shoulders like lion cubs and rubbed cream on my back.
Every summer’s day should be filled with bliss like this followed by ice creams and juicy mango dribbling down your chin.
Bring it.
Do summer beach days make you want to dance?
