10 things I love about my 10 year marriage
I can’t believe that I have been married for 10 years. It makes me feel really old wise.
Friday the 13th: My ten year wedding anniversary.
As somewhat of an omen believer I should be scared.
We are switching off today (well except for our phones) and going to enjoy what we have always loved about our marriage- travel and adventure. We are having a child-free evening in Sydney, and will spend the day walking around Sydney Harbour (if the weather behaves).
This might not seem so exciting to some, but Craig and I have always loved hiking and exploring with our feet. We don’t get to do much of it anymore with the girls. I can’t wait. We are going to stop at cafes along the way, for coffee and lunch. It will be so relaxing.
To celebrate, in no particular order, are
10 things I love about my marriage
1. I’m married to a ridiculously good looking man who I thought would never look twice at me. I really should pin him to my Hunky Men pinterest board.
2. We can laugh at how much we can annoy the shit out of each other, and at each other’s pathetic jokes and goofiness.
3. We have had so many amazing travel adventures together which has helped build a solid foundation for our marriage. It didn’t break us!
4. We’ve always been best friends and we enjoy hanging out with each other a lot.
5. We view our marriage as being that we are both part of a team. This helps us work together to get over challenges and to support and encourage each other.
6. We have created two amazing little girls.
7. We are both sports and party mad. Neither of us really has to try and drag the other one home; we just hold each other up on the way out.
8.We have the same values and passions and like the same music (although he hasn’t caught my passion for country music yet)
9. We have created a business and a lifestyle that we both love. Even though I often want to throw my computer at his desk that sits opposite me, I am glad that we are in this together.
10. We can have horrific fights yet we make up and get over it (usually after a couple days of the talking ban imposed by my stubbornness)
Some other creepy things about us/ our marriage
When we were travelling lots of people thought we were brother and sister because we look alike.
Often we will notice that we have dressed in the same colour without realizing.
We often say what the other one is thinking or about to say.

My hubby and I don’t look alike but we have the other 2 “creepy” items on your list. You are just “in tune”!!! 🙂
Congratulations
Anne
Caz
That’s a much better way to look at it! Thank you
Rachel from Redcliffe Style
You are amazing gorgeous too. Congratulations on your 10th year. My husband and I have been married for 10 too but we are complete opposites. Please are always surprised when they meet him because he is not what they expected. I haven’t worked out what they did expect though. Have a fantastic weekend! Rachel x
Caz
Opposites obviously work just as well! Sometimes I think we can get a little boring as we are too alike.I suppose I have my country music 🙂
Cath

Kerri

This sounds so much like Cameron and I. Especially the part about dressing alike. We always seem to be wearing the same thing!
Caz
Sometimes we don’t even notice until we are out and its too late to change!

Happy Anniversary guys.
1. Yes Craig is super cute and should be pinned to your hunky men Pinterest board 🙂
2. You’re not too bad yourself Miss Caz!
3. My hubby and I have also been confused for brother and sister before! A BIT disconcerting!
Caz
Thank you Kelly! The whole sibling thing is freaky! Do your children look very similar then and like you both? There’s no doubt the two girls are ours.

Jaden looks pretty much exactly like Ant … but strangely also very similar to his cousins on both sides!! So nothing like me … but very similar to my sister’s little boy! How weird is that.
Johanna
Congratulations Caz and Craig! Here’s to many more 🙂 And as the years go by, my wish for you … that your marriage matures like a fine red wine that travels well!

Hi Caz and Craig,
Happy Wedding Anniversary – have fun walking around Sydney – that would be the best way to spend the day!
Love the ten things that you love about your 10 year marriage….looking forward to reading about your 20 things that you love about your 20 year marriage (and many more after!!)
Cheers

We spend so much time idealizing romantic love..its truly gorgeous reading about REAL love, companionship and marriage. The normal everyday stuff like getting on each others nerves but being able to laugh about it and returning to the things that brought you together in the first place.
Happy Anniversary beautiful people x
Caz
Romantic love is very fleeting, you need something so much deeper than that to survive the turbulence of marriage. It’s about learning to get along and love each other despite our very real faults.

Congratulations Caz – a fabulous 10 year list 🙂
We are into 17 years this year and it’s my turn to organise our anniversary, something without kids this year lol!
Hope your next ten are as much fun as the last and see your dreams of Thailand come to life 🙂
Caz
Yes! Have a night out without the kids, its so much fun. After a day out with the kids today at an Italian festival, I need another child free night! 17 years is an accomplishment

Caz
Ha ha. I’m trying to get him to bring back the six pack first 🙂
