Fairies, friends, playgrounds and family fun in Bright
Last month we packed up the kids and drove 8 hours across the NSW border into Bright, Victoria.
I’m so glad we did. It is a pretty alpine town with so much to offer. (You can read more about Bright on y travel blog)
What I loved about our time in Bright, was how much Kalyra and Savannah loved it. From the minute we arrived in Bellas of Bright’s cottage until we dragged them home, they wore grins. Kalyra is already begging to go back.
Bellas of Bright
Our cottage is owned by Kim our lovely host of the Bright Delight weekend. The views of the mountains from the cottage were so beautiful and relaxing. I demanded we order take away on our first night so I could sit on the porch and relax with those views.
Kim had told us about possible kangaroos roaming at night. Kalyra asked if she could go on the swings out the back when she suddenly screamed, “I can see a reindeer.”
“A what?”
We raced over to see a roo munching on the grass with a joey in her pouch.
“But, she has reindeer ears!”
The girls had a ball playing with the toys and games provided in the cottage. Some of them are now on Santa’s list. My cherubs curled up on the bean bag later for movie time, while I took a couple of minutes of me time.
New friends
It was lovely to spend the weekend with Kim and her family. The girls adored her two children, as did I! Charlie and Bella became great mates with Kalyra and Savannah. They swam together, walked through the town making sure to hold hands across the road, tore up cafes, Kalyra chewed off Bella’s ear, they became fairies together and had a ball playing together out at Kim and Mick’s place on the Saturday night. The oldies enjoyed a sit down with dinner and wine.
Fairies, throwing sticks and hoola hoops
On the Saturday, Kim took us to the local Make, Bake and Take market held every month by the Ovens river. This was after a scrummy breakfast of beetroot and feta stack at the Coral Cafe.
I loved how the markets had lots of things set up for kids. The girls got some cute new fairy gear, painted their faces and then headed for some hula hooping and throwing stick fun.
Playgrounds
Bright has the best playground. It sits under the willow trees and blends into the natural environment, We spent a lot of our down time swinging across monkey bars, under the trees and racing around the park.
Canyon walks
The girls also had fun with Mum and Dad taking a gentle walk along the Canyon and the river.
We stayed in Bright as guests of Kim who organized the Bright Delight blogger trip.
What do you think of Bright?

Lovely to meet you too Kim! It’s always so hard on blog trips to chat with everyone. Goes so fast and you’re usually so busy
